Groupistry

Build your own private organizer with groups, customizable fields, reusable templates, and items for the information you want to keep together. Use it for personal lists, collections, projects, household information, and other everyday records.

Groups, templates, and fields

Create a group from a sample template or customize your own. Add, reuse, reorder, and edit fields; choose supported field types and display formatting for text, numbers, dates, and other information. Templates and Smart Suggestions help you set up a structure you can review and change. A newly created empty group opens its editor so you can review the setup, then its items page. Use the empty-items page to add your first item, bulk add, import a file, or edit fields. Add individual items using the normal form or quick-add tools. Available views and settings let you browse lists or cards, search, filter, sort, save views, mark favorites, and archive records. Use supported move, copy, and duplicate actions to organize items between groups; review field compatibility and any reminder changes before confirming.

Archive, start fresh, and Trash

After successfully archiving a group, you can choose to start a fresh empty group with the same fields and settings. The new group has its own identity and contains no copied items, attachments, history, or reminders; the archived group is preserved. The app chooses an available name, such as “Name (2)”, and preserves Archive Undo. Creation still respects Free or Pro limits. Declining the fresh-group option or being unable to create it does not erase the archive. Archiving is not a substitute for a backup.

Use Trash to manage deleted content. You can permanently delete an individual trashed item immediately after a confirmation that names the item. This removes its associated data and reminders while preserving attachments still referenced by other records. Permanent deletion cannot be undone through the app; a separate usable backup may still contain a copy. Permanently deleting current content does not erase older backups, exports, or shares. Review those copies separately.

Photos, documents, import, and export

Attach supported photos and documents to records. Download or export an empty CSV or native Excel (.xlsx) template based on your group, complete it in a spreadsheet app, and import CSV or XLSX data. The Excel template preserves field headings and order, includes an Instructions sheet, and supplies supported choice dropdowns and text, date, number, and currency formatting. Identifier fields preserve leading zeroes, and calculated or non-editable fields are marked. For Excel imports, select the worksheet and header row, then review the field mapping, preview, validation messages, and duplicate warnings before explicitly confirming an add-only import. Previewing or canceling an import writes no records. Imports add new items, preserve existing items, and respect Free or Pro limits; a duplicate warning is not an automatic merge. Export or share records in the formats offered by your installed version, including CSV, JSON, text, PDF, and Word. A document export is a readable copy, not a full-fidelity replacement for a restore backup; attachment inclusion depends on the format and options you choose. Medication schedules and dose-history exports can contain sensitive health information; Bills & Creditors exports can contain financial information. Single-group export filenames use a sanitized group name, with underscores replacing unsupported separators; exports for all groups use All_groups. These naming rules also apply to Protected exports. Password protection covers file contents, not the outer filename, so rename a file before sharing if its group name is sensitive.

Backup, restore, and security

Groupistry uses an encrypted local database and supports encrypted, passphrase-protected backups. Keep local backups for in-app recovery and save a portable backup outside the app for device loss, reinstalling, or transfer between supported Android and iOS versions. Review the restore preview and replacement or import choices before confirming. Protect the passphrase and follow the requirements shown in the app; ABC-Astro Media cannot recover a forgotten backup passphrase. Deleting a record does not erase old backups or files you shared. Use the available backup-management controls to remove copies you no longer need.

Local storage encryption does not automatically protect notification previews, calendar events, every attachment, screenshots, or exported and shared files. Use your device's screen lock, review security settings offered by your installed version, and use password-protected exports where supported. Back up before clearing app data or uninstalling.

Optional App Lock

App Lock is available in Free and Pro and is off by default. Enable it in Settings to require supported device authentication, such as fingerprint, Face ID, or the device PIN, passcode, or password. Groupistry uses the operating system's authentication prompt rather than asking you to create a separate Groupistry lock password. Authentication is required before disabling App Lock.

When enabled, the app relocks on opening, returning from the background, and returning from external actions such as camera capture or the calendar editor. The recent-app preview is obscured while App Lock is enabled. Drafts, unsaved work, and returned results are preserved behind the lock for review after you authenticate. Device authentication availability depends on your operating system and screen-lock configuration. App Lock protects access to the app; it does not conceal notification previews or protect a file or calendar event after you send it elsewhere.

Create with Voice

Create groups through supported on-device speech with on-screen and spoken prompts, editable review, and keyboard fallback. Describe the group name and what you want to track; guided setup matches suitable templates and offers them for acceptance or customization. It gathers fields across multiple conversational turns, recognizes field types, dropdown choices, units, and ranges, and asks for examples when your meaning is unclear. Review and edit the proposed template, fields, and recognized words. The app waits for your explicit readiness before creating the group. Groupistry does not use an external AI service or a cloud speech-recognition fallback for this workflow. Device, language, permissions, and installed offline speech resources affect recognition and spoken-prompt availability; use typed entry when the required on-device service is unavailable. The app retains text you choose to save, rather than a separate recording of the voice-entry session.

Scan to Text

On Android, capture a picture with the in-app camera or select an existing picture for offline text recognition. OCR resources are bundled with the app; recognition does not use a cloud service, send OCR telemetry, or require a separate recognition-model download. Recognized words are outlined: tap to select, zoom and pan for a closer view, or use the accessible list-selection option. Review and edit the selected text, then explicitly insert it into the target text field. Existing text is preserved during review; canceling does not commit the scan. Temporary scan files are cleaned up after the workflow. Scanning does not automatically attach the image or save a camera capture to your gallery; use attachment controls separately if you want to retain a photo in a record. A picture you selected remains in its original location unless you delete it there. On iPhone and iPad, use the device’s supported Live Text controls to capture or select text and review it before inserting it into a field.

Recognition can misread handwriting, small print, decimal points, units, dates, and names. Check results against the original, especially prescription labels, medication strengths, doses, and instructions. Scan to Text transcribes text; it does not interpret a prescription or establish a safe medication schedule.

General reminders

Create reminders linked to your records and supported date or time fields. Recurrence calculates future reminders from the rule you configure. Notifications depend on permission, device scheduling, time zone, clock changes, and operating-system restrictions. After a restore, device change, or schedule edit, review upcoming reminders and notification settings. Data backup and purchase restoration are separate operations.

Medication template, schedules, and dose history

Create one item per medication. Medication name is the required starting field; optional fields include medication type and status, strength, dose and unit, route, instructions, frequency and schedule, start or end dates, expiration date, prescriber, pharmacy and phone number, prescription number, refills remaining, refill date, quantity or supply unit, cost, notes, and a photo. Fill in only what you need and check every value against your prescription or clinician's instructions. Review or correct dose-history times, notes, and actions when needed. Pause and resume medication tracking when appropriate, and review the schedule when resuming. Pausing or discontinuing a medication, or reaching its configured end date, stops future medication reminders.

• Fixed daily times: Future reminders follow the times you set. Logging a late dose does not shift the remaining daily schedule.
• Interval after a dose: The next reminder is calculated from the actual dose time you confirm and the interval you entered. An unconfirmed reminder is not treated as a taken dose.
• As needed: Log doses when they occur; this mode does not create an automatic repeating medication schedule.
• Taken, Snooze, and Skip: Taken records your confirmation; Snooze postpones the alert without recording a dose; Skip records that action without claiming the medication was taken. Missed-dose handling keeps unanswered reminders unconfirmed rather than recording them as taken. Review dose history and edit incorrect times, notes, or actions.
• Supply and refills: Compatible confirmed doses can reduce the recorded supply. Refill reminders use the dates, quantities, or thresholds you configure. Supply tracking includes run-out estimates based on the recorded quantities and schedule. Check estimates against your actual supply; the app does not order prescriptions or verify pharmacy availability.

Medication reminder sounds

Android offers Standard and optional Alarm-style medication reminders. An explicit option lets you allow reminders to ring on Silent or Do Not Disturb through the device’s alarm settings. Follow the app’s guidance for the permission needed to schedule on-time alarms and review alarm volume and system access. These options remain subject to device permissions, settings, scheduling, and battery controls; delivery is not guaranteed. On iPhone and iPad, medication reminders use ordinary notification sounds and follow iOS notification, Silent, and Focus settings.

Medication calendar copies

Copy one upcoming dose or refill reminder, or copy all fixed daily doses within a chosen date range. Preview the dose count, choose whether to include medication details, and review duplicate-copy warnings before continuing. Review the proposed event times and explicitly save through the calendar editor; opening the editor alone does not confirm that an event was saved. Calendar copies remain separate from Groupistry’s dose tracking, schedule, dose history, Taken/Snooze/Skip actions, and refill tracking. Later app changes do not synchronize to them, and a copied event does not record a dose or calculate the next dose from a taken-dose log. Review and delete calendar copies separately. Your calendar provider may sync copied information to other devices or people with calendar access.

Medication exports and imports

Medication exports in JSON, CSV, PDF, Word, and TXT include schedules, refill settings, and dose history. Review the selected format and content before sharing. JSON import can restore medication structure and history without replaying doses or deducting supply again. Imported reminders require your explicit opt-in; importing history alone does not reactivate alerts. Review the imported schedule, supply, and history before enabling reminders. Readable document exports do not replace a full restore backup.

Bills & Creditors

Use the Bills & Creditors template to organize what you owe, who you pay, and when payment is due. Bill name, amount due, and payment due date are the starting required fields. Optional details include category, currency, creditor or payee information, account reference, minimum payment or current balance, statement date, payment frequency, payment method, autopay setting, website, contact details, attachments, notes, and active or closed status. Calculated views show the recorded amount remaining, days until due or overdue, and payment status.

• Due and overdue reminders: Use Log payment, Remind me later, or View bill. Remind me later postpones the alert; it does not record a payment.
• Partial and full payments and history: Record the amount and payment date against the correct bill occurrence. Partial payments reduce that occurrence's recorded remaining amount without moving its due date. Review and correct the history when needed; logging a payment records your information rather than transferring money.
• Recurring bills: Future periods follow your configured schedule and its original date anchor, including the applicable month-end handling. A late payment does not redefine the recurring schedule. For bills with changing amounts, enter the new period's amount rather than assuming the previous amount is correct.
• Autopay: An autopay setting describes the arrangement you record. Confirm the actual payment before treating the bill as paid; Groupistry does not verify that your bank or creditor completed it.
• Closing, archiving, and deletion: Closing a bill or archiving or deleting it cancels its future app reminders. Existing history or separately saved copies are managed separately.

Bill exports, imports, and backups support bill details, recurrence, reminder settings, and payment history. Review imported records and reminder choices before relying on them.

Enter monetary values clearly, check the selected currency, and avoid spaces inside a number. Review validation messages rather than assuming ambiguous commas or periods will be interpreted correctly. Amounts, balances, due dates, and statuses depend on what you enter and log. Use your bank, creditor, or payment service to make and verify payments; this template is not financial advice, an accounting certification, or a guaranteed deadline service.

Local data storage and navigation

The local data storage display shows one measured total of included file sizes on your device, even when you have no groups. It includes the database and supporting files, retained backups, caches, temporary files, and Android OCR data. Check the refresh timestamp; if measurement fails, the app shows a failure state and offers retry rather than presenting an estimate as a measurement. This total does not assign estimated amounts to individual groups, Archive, or Trash. It describes included local data at the measurement time, rather than your device’s total capacity.

Section cards organize More, Trash, Settings, and Back up & restore. Export formats have distinct colors, previews use your group colors, and ordinary export filenames identify the group more clearly. In-app Help explains Voice, Scan to Text, medication tracking, Bills & Creditors, imports, and backup choices, including the medication disclaimer. Review saved history after correcting a medication action or bill payment, and use the app’s reminder controls for actions taken from notifications, including while the app is in the background.

Free plan, Pro, and purchase restoration

The free plan allows one active group and 50 total items. The one-time Pro upgrade is $7.99 USD and removes those limits; it is not a subscription. Voice is available in both Free and Pro; free group and item limits still apply. The store shows the current regional price. Restore a purchase while signed in to the store account used to buy it; purchase and restoration need a connection to that store. A Google Play entitlement does not transfer to Apple, or vice versa. Restoring Pro does not restore your records or backups. For refunds, use Apple's request page or Google Play's refund help.

Groupistry

Information handled locally and why

Groupistry handles group names, templates, custom fields and formatting, items and field values, photos and document attachments, search and filter settings, saved views, favorites, archive state, reminder rules and times, notification actions, backups, imports, exports, App Lock settings, spreadsheet-template and import data, bill and creditor details, payment schedules and history, security settings, and purchase entitlement on your device to provide the organizer features you choose. The local database is encrypted. Groupistry does not require an app account, operate a server holding your groups, or automatically synchronize your records with ABC-Astro Media.

Medication and other sensitive information

If you choose the Medication template or enter health information in any field, local records can include medication names, strength, dose, route, instructions, schedule and dates, prescription numbers, prescriber and pharmacy details, supply and refill information, costs, notes, and prescription-label photos. The app also handles reminder responses, confirmed dose times, skipped or unconfirmed occurrences, snooze choices, history corrections, and calculated next-reminder or supply values. It uses those details for the schedules, logs, supply estimates, and refill alerts you configure. ABC-Astro Media does not automatically receive this health information or use it for advertising, profiling, or AI training.

Health-related records can identify you or another person and deserve particular care. Store or share someone else's records only with appropriate permission. Review notification previews, spoken prompts, attachments, exported schedules and dose histories, and calendar titles before exposing them to another app or person. Groupistry does not automatically connect to your clinician, pharmacy, insurer, medical record system, Apple Health, or Health Connect.

Bills, creditors, and financial information

If you use Bills & Creditors or enter financial information in custom fields, local records can include bill and creditor names, contact details, account references, amounts and currencies, balances, statement and due dates, recurring rules, payment methods, autopay selections, receipt or statement attachments, notes, partial payments, payment-history corrections, and calculated remaining amounts or statuses. Groupistry uses these records to display the information, reminders, history, and calculations you choose. Recording a payment does not execute it, and an autopay selection is not confirmation from a bank or creditor. ABC-Astro Media does not automatically receive these records or use them for advertising or profiling.

Statements, receipts, account references, and financial exports can contain sensitive personal information. Enter only information you need, review notification previews and exports, and remove unnecessary details from support messages. A share destination, file provider, or calendar copy you select can disclose information outside the app.

App Lock and device authentication

App Lock is optional, off by default, and available in Free and Pro. When enabled, it uses your operating system's supported device authentication, such as biometrics or a device PIN, passcode, or password, to control access to Groupistry. Authentication is also required before disabling it. The app stores the lock preference; it does not receive or store your biometric templates or device-authentication secret. The app relocks after opening, backgrounding, and external handoffs while preserving drafts and returned results behind the lock for review after authentication. The recent-app preview is obscured while the lock is enabled. App Lock does not erase or encrypt copies already shared and does not control lock-screen notification previews.

Voice processing and retention

When you start Voice, microphone audio is processed through the supported on-device recognition workflow to create editable text. Supported offline text-to-speech can speak prompts using your chosen local voice setting. Guided setup locally handles your group name, tracking purpose, proposed templates, field types, dropdown choices, units, ranges, and clarification examples across multiple turns. You can review or customize the proposal; creation waits for your explicit readiness. There is no external AI or cloud speech-recognition fallback in Groupistry's Create with Voice workflow. The app saves the text and values you explicitly confirm; it does not retain a separate audio recording of that voice session. Canceling an unconfirmed voice workflow does not save its proposed record. Offline speech availability depends on your device, language, and installed resources. Downloads or settings changes you initiate in your operating system are governed by that platform's policies.

Scan to Text processing and retention

On Android, Scan to Text accesses a picture you capture with the in-app camera or explicitly select, and recognizes text on the device for outlined-word selection, zoom and pan, accessible list selection, editable review, and explicit insertion. The bundled offline OCR workflow does not send scan image content or recognized text to an ABC-Astro Media server or external AI service, send OCR telemetry, or download a recognition model at runtime. On iPhone and iPad, text recognition uses supported Live Text controls supplied by the operating system. Temporary Android scan files are cleaned up after the workflow and are not attached to the record by default. Text you insert and save becomes part of the item’s normal local data and may be included in later backups or exports. A scan-only camera capture is not saved to your gallery by default. Selected source pictures remain with their original photo-library or file provider; separately attached images remain attachments until removed, subject to backups and exported copies.

Permissions and optional services

• Microphone and speech recognition: Used when you start Voice. You can decline access and use typed entry instead.
• Camera and selected photos: Used when you capture a picture with the in-app camera or select a picture for Android Scan to Text, or capture or select a photo for an attachment. Photo-picker access depends on your platform; scanning does not require location permission.
• Files: System pickers and file providers handle documents, imports, exports, and portable backups you choose. A cloud-backed destination may upload those files according to its settings.
• Notifications and alarm scheduling: Used for reminders, medication and refill alerts, bill due or overdue reminders, and supported louder alerts. Notification text may appear on your lock screen; review system preview settings. Android supports Standard and optional Alarm-style medication sounds, with an explicit choice to ring on Silent or Do Not Disturb using the device’s alarm settings. On-time alarm scheduling depends on applicable system permission. iOS uses ordinary notification sounds.
• Calendar: Used when you choose to create a separate calendar copy, including fixed medication doses for a selected date range. You choose whether to include medication details; the selected event details are passed to the calendar you choose; this is not ongoing calendar synchronization or access to unrelated events. Review and explicitly save the proposed event or events in the calendar editor. Opening the editor is not proof that a calendar copy was saved. Platform permissions and calendar-provider settings govern the copy.
• Purchases: Store services validate the Pro entitlement. Apple or Google processes account, payment, transaction, and applicable technical information under its own policies; Groupistry does not receive your full payment-card details.

Camera and microphone hardware are declared optional; a device without the relevant capability can use typed organization while the related capture or voice feature is unavailable. You can change permissions in your device settings. Disabling a permission can make its related feature unavailable without preventing ordinary typed organization. Voice and Scan to Text do not require current location or a contact-book upload. Photos and documents can contain metadata and sensitive information; do not assume Groupistry strips all attachment metadata.

Sharing, calendar copies, and third-party processing

You control exports, file destinations, shares, and support messages. Recipients and providers may store, process, or further share content under their own policies. A medication schedule or dose-history export can reveal health information, and bill or payment-history exports can reveal financial information; use an appropriate destination and the available protection options. A calendar copy can include a dose or refill time and, if you choose to include them, medication details you accept in the event editor. Calendar providers may synchronize it outside the device or expose it to shared-calendar members. Later changes or deletion in Groupistry do not update or erase that copy.

Groupistry does not add advertising or developer-operated behavioral tracking. Operating-system services and app-store components can process service, purchase, or diagnostic information under their own settings and policies. The Android Scan to Text workflow processes content locally without OCR telemetry. Any operating-system or store diagnostics are separate from this workflow and governed by those providers' settings and policies.

Local storage measurement and platform privacy declarations

The storage display measures included local file sizes on your device, including database and supporting files, retained backups, caches, temporary files, and Android OCR data. Measurement and its refresh timestamp are used for the local storage display; they are not uploaded to an ABC-Astro Media server. Groupistry shows one measured total, including with no groups, rather than estimated allocations to groups, Archive, or Trash. The iOS app includes an app-level privacy manifest describing applicable platform API and data-use declarations.

Spreadsheet imports and export filenames

CSV and XLSX templates reflect your group's field headings, choices, and formatting. Import previews, field mappings, validation, and duplicate checks are handled in the app; a file you open, edit, or save in a separate spreadsheet app or cloud file provider follows that service's policies. Worksheet/header selections, field mappings, and previews let you review a spreadsheet before import; previewing or canceling writes no records. An add-only import does not replace existing records. Medication JSON import can restore schedules, refill settings, and history without replaying doses or deducting supply again; imported reminders require explicit opt-in. Bill exports, imports, and backups can include payment history and reminder settings. Ordinary and Protected exports can use the sanitized group name in their outer filename, or All_groups for an all-groups export. A protected file's outer filename is visible without its password; rename it before sharing if the group name reveals private information.

Backups, retention, deletion, and security limits

Local records, attachments, reminder settings, medication logs, bill and payment histories, and app settings remain until you delete them, replace them through a confirmed restore, or remove the app's storage. Canceling or deleting a reminder in the app does not erase past dose-history records or copies held elsewhere. Archiving retains the archived group's data; starting a fresh group copies only its structure and settings and does not delete the archive. Permanent deletion of an individual item through Trash requires a confirmation that names it. It removes the item’s associated data and reminders while retaining attachments still referenced elsewhere. It does not purge copies in old backups or external destinations. Encrypted backups are separate snapshots protected by their passphrase; deleting current records does not rewrite those snapshots. Delete unwanted backups with the available controls, and delete exported files, original images, calendar events, shared copies, and operating-system backups from their respective destinations. Uninstalling or clearing storage can remove locally held records and local backups.

Protect your device, backup passphrase, and any exported-file password. We cannot recover a forgotten backup passphrase or retrieve your local app content from a developer server. Local database encryption does not imply encryption of every attachment, share-sheet payload, document export, calendar event, or lock-screen preview. Files outside the app follow the destination's security settings. No security measure guarantees absolute protection.
